Within HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance, elective units have been selected from Health, Community Service and Business Training Packages to be contextualised into a Secondary School environment. The Certificate III in Health Services Assistance is a one-year program that is 100% delivered by Connect 'n' Grow at Connect 'n' Grow's Health Hub. This program involves 228 hours of face-to-face delivery with the students.

During the program, students will learn essential skills and knowledge in health services assistance, including communication, infection control, and assisting with client care and cover on the following topics:

  • Recognise healthy body systems

  • Interpret medical terminology

  • Providing individualised support

  • Maintain a high standard of service

  • Facilitating responsible behaviour

  • Infection prevention and control measures to minimise the risk of infection spread

  • Maintain accurate clear records of care activities and observations

  • Promote Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Cultural Safety

Yes, students will be required to complete assessments throughout the program to demonstrate their understanding and competency in the health support services field. Assessment types include:

  • Multiple choice, true/false and short answer questions (online)

  • Practical activities and scenarios

  • Workplace Learning Log

  • Portfolio of workplace documents

  • World class Learner Management Platform (LMS) – The ‘CnG’ Hub

  • Industry standard training and assessment materials

  • Industry standard trainers
